High Life - DVD

Monte (Robert Pattinson) and his young daughter, Willow, live together in complete isolation aboard a spaceship, deep in space. A man who used strict self-discipline as a shield against desire, Monte became a father against his will. Both he and the woman who gave birth to the child were members of a crew of prisoners – death row inmates. They were guinea pigs sent on a mission to find alternative energy sources. Also taking part in the mission is a doctor (Juliette Binoche), who is researching human sexuality in extreme conditions and has her own intentions for the prisoners. Together, the father and daughter approach their destination – a black hole where time and space cease to exist.

A philosophical sci-fi from director Claire Denis about the search for the essence of humanity against a cosmic backdrop.
