The new Czech textbook on the history of psychology is intended for all students of psychology and other humanities disciplines, as well as those interested in studying the relevant field. Readers will gain a complete overview of the development of psychology from its earliest days, when it was developed within philosophy, The book also traces the independent emergence and internal differentiation of the field of psychology and the main trends of the 20th century, to which the author includes behaviorism, Gestaltism, psychodynamic, phenomenological, transpersonal and cognitive psychology, or systemic and systemic theories. Postmodern currents in contemporary psychology (feminist, discursive or critical psychology) have not been left out either.
