Illusions

The second step towards darkness is called Illusion and the pioneer of modern horror, American author Howard Phillips Lovecraft

Howard Phillips Lovecraft meets his next role model, none other than another American master of the pen, Edgar Allan Poe (Lovecraft is sometimes referred to as Poe's direct successor). The short story William Wilson is a typical representative of Poe's fanciful and mystical style, for which he gained worldwide fame.

The author of the other two stories - The Terrible Old Man and Ex Oblivinone - is H. P. Lovecraft, whose last name even defines one of the subgenres of horror literature (it's about emphasizing fear of the unknown, not bloodbaths). The mysterious and even terrifying atmosphere of the stories is underlined not only by the voices of the well-chosen actors - Petr Šmíd and Jiří Dvořák - but also, as with the previous audiobook, by the music of Marek Mrkvička.
