King Ivan: Smile - CD

King Ivan: Smile - CD
With its unmistakable style, the album Smile is a worthy final chapter in the rich creative life of a musician who was an artist through and through. Ivan Kral played all the instruments on the album himself. He wrote the songs with his wife, Cindy Hudson, and also produced the album.
Composer, musician, singer and producer Ivan Král made his mark on world rock history primarily through his collaborations with Patti Smith, Iggy Pop and John Cale. His compositions have been performed by artists such as David Bowie and U2. He lived in the USA from 1966.
In the 1990s, he began returning to the Czech Republic, where he collaborated with bands such as Lucie, Mňága a Žďorp, and Alice, as well as with Lenka Dusilová and Jiří Suchý. He won a Czech Academy of Popular Music award for his album Nostalgia and won further awards as a producer in 1995 and 1998. He was nominated for a Czech Lion award in 2001 for his music for the film Kabriolet (Cabriolet). He is the author of countless hits, including the song of the decade, Sen (by Lucie). Unfortunately, he did not live to see the release of his final album, Smile.
