Krall Diana: Wallflower (2015) (2×LP) - LP

Canadian singer Diana Krall returns with a brand new album after a two-year break.

The five-time Grammy Award winner last made her mark two years ago with the release of her outstanding album Glad Rag Doll. Almost exactly two years later, Diana Krall delivers her twelfth studio album. Unlike her previous release, the new Wallflower album consists mainly of cover versions.

Produced by the renowned David Foster, who himself boasts sixteen Grammy Awards, the album offers a collection of songs that inspired the singer in her musical beginnings. Fans can look forward to tracks ranging from the late 1960s to relatively recent hits. As the producer himself adds, these are some of the most important pop songs of all time.

Among the newly interpreted songs, to which Diana Krall lends a completely new dimension with her beautifully toned jazz voice, you can find classics such as California Dreamin' by The Mamas And The Papas, Desperado by The Eagles, the track Wallflower by the legendary Bob Dylan, and Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word from Elton John's repertoire.

From more recent songs, the singer gives a new look to perhaps the biggest hit by Crowded House, Don't Dream It's Over, and you can also look forward to the track If I Take You Home Tonight from the pen of Paul McCartney. He wrote this song for his two-year-old album Kisses On The Bottom, but in the end never recorded it and subsequently gave it to the Canadian singer.

As a reminder, the charming 49-year-old Diana Krall is one of the most successful singers of the last few decades. In jazz music, no other artist has sold as many records over the past thirty years as she has, making Krall one of the best-selling female artists of all time. In addition to her Grammy Awards, Diana Krall boasts eight Juno® Awards, and her albums to date have gathered a large number of gold, platinum, and multi-platinum certifications worldwide. Her new album Wallflower is sure to add to the tally.
