Metallica: S&M 2 (4x LP) – LP
The live album S&M2 by Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony.
The S&M2 concerts on 6 and 8 September 2019 marked a historic milestone on several fronts – not only did they serve as the grand opening for San Francisco's Chase Center, but they also reunited the band and symphony orchestra for the first time since their 1999 performance, which was captured on the Grammy-winning album that featured the first-ever symphonic arrangements of Metallica's songs.
The album represents a landmark release in the band's catalogue, both sonically and visually. It is produced by Greg Fidelman alongside James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich. The live album captures a concert lasting over two and a half hours, featuring James, Lars, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo performing alongside the 80-member SF Symphony, legendary music director Michael Tilson Thomas and conductor Edwin Outwater.
