Rihanna: Rated R
LP Record The R-rated film is still a fan favourite. Much like the album, Anti pushed Rihanna's boundaries as an artist, deepening her genre experiments and avant-garde aesthetic. As her first explicit album – complete with a Parental Advisory sticker on the cover – Rihanna ventured into territory most of her pop peers wouldn't dare to tread.

Perfume Genius: No Shape Ltd Clr
LP Record If Perfume Genius's first albums felt like they were sung at a piano in complete darkness, Mike Hadreas ventures into new musical territory with "No Shape". Or should we say fields? Because although the thirteen opulently wild songs from the American artist occupy their own niche, they have been cultivated by various influences: church music, gothic radio formats, art pop, krautrock, queer soul, the sound of RCA Studio B, rhythm and blues, and life itself! Thanks to his collaboration with Blake Mills, who produced the last Alabama Shakes album and performs with John Legend, Hadreas has found a new comfort zone and taken his artistic expression to the next level of evolution. Right where the individual parts become a whole.
Modeselektor: Who Else Dlx Pic
LP Record Modeselektor recorded their new album – they spent two years planning it and a month creating it. It's an album packed with classic Modeselektor tracks, born from experience, full of self-confidence, and with their usual dose of madness. No kick drum in "Who Else" sounds like any other on this album; no snare is repeated in another track. Every hi-hat is custom-made, and no synth appears in exactly the same way twice. The album isn't your predictable techno record, and that's what makes it such a powerful piece of work. Even in the relentless search for new sounds, the old principle always applies: less is more. "Who Else" represents the sound of Berlin in all its ambivalence.

Status Quo: Masters Collection (The Pye Years) Ltd Num Clr

With the most hits in the British charts, the most appearances on BBC's Top of the Pops, and a total of 25 top-ten albums, Status Quo are undoubtedly one of the longest-running bands in the UK. The group started out in 1962 as a beat band called The Spectres. Around 1967, they discovered psychedelic rock music and changed the band's name to Traffic, later changing it again to Traffic Jam. That same year, Rick Parfitt joined the band, which led to another name change that has stuck to this day: Status Quo.
