Research methods in pedagogical practice

The publication offers a selection of traditional and less traditional analytical methods that can be used to research pedagogical reality (grounded theory, analysis of the constitution of meanings, discursive analysis, and others). It offers anyone interested in pedagogy or education, and especially those who work in these fields professionally, an introduction to working with the different methods. Each chapter focuses on a different method of analysis and provides a description of its theoretical background and procedures. All this is documented by concrete research that has already been carried out using the methods mentioned above.

Readers will thus become familiar with research carried out, for example, in the field of multicultural education, aimed primarily at the situation of socially disadvantaged groups, and will gain insight into the application mechanisms of individual methods and the results of research investigations. These approaches can be used in research in other social sciences and humanities.
