As a CIA agent, Evelyn Salt (Jolie) took an oath of duty, honor, and love of country. However, her loyalty becomes the cause of a number of questions after a Russian defector accuses her of being a Russian spy. Salt escapes, during which he uses all his skills and many years of experience as a secret agent to escape his pursuers. But her efforts to prove her innocence only fuel speculation about her true motives. The race against time to uncover the truth about her identity continues, and the main question still hangs in the air: What exactly is Salt?
