Six thousand on the run

In July 2025, Daniel Polman took on one of the craziest cycling challenges imaginable – the Ultra Tour project. Riding completely unsupported, he completed the entire Tour de France route, including all transfer stages between the 21 stages that professional teams covered by bus. The project became an uncompromising ultracycling race against the clock, as Dan attempted to reach Paris before the winner in the yellow jersey. In the end, he succeeded with three days to spare. He conquered the total 6013km in just 19 days and 7 hours. On average, he covered 311km and climbed over 4000 vertical metres every day, sleeping for less than 3 hours! His Ultra Tour was subsequently named Achievement of the Year at the King of Cycling awards.
