The Byrds: Fifth Dimension
LP Record The Byrds were one of the first bands to combine the best of two different worlds. They merged the energy of the British Invasion with the musical elements of the contemporary folk movement. Along the way, they became pioneers of psychedelic and country rock, yet always remained recognisable thanks to their vocal melodies and jangly guitars. Their third album, 1966's "Fifth Dimension", saw psychedelic rock shift more towards LSD in songs like "Eight Miles High" and "I See You", alongside a newfound fascination with Indian raga. One of the most groundbreaking albums ever!
Review
"An absolute must-have for folk-rock fans, of course." (Good Times, August/September 2012)
