LP Record Louder Than Bombs is the second and final studio album by The Smiths, released on 3 April 1987 by Rough Trade Records. The album was produced by John Porter and recorded at RAK Studios from January to February 1987. It was the band's only album to feature the new drummer, Mike Joyce. He also stated that the album is "the equal of The Queen Is Dead". In a retrospective review, Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic awarded the album five out of five stars, describing it as "an album that's as good as anything the Smiths ever did".
