The Mikrotik RBRBFTC11 media converter is used to convert the signal between an optical line and a metallic network. The network element converts the SFP optical interface to a classic RJ-45 copper port with speeds of up to 1,000Mbps. The device works exclusively with gigabit optical connections and maintains full throughput at the physical layer. The design simplifies the connection of optical lines with standard Ethernet cabling. The device supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) over a wide voltage range. The device complies with European CE and EAC standards and has ROHS environmental certification.

The device has a waterproof outer casing that protects the internal electronics from adverse weather conditions. A security locking screw prevents unauthorised tampering with the connectors inside the chassis. The mounting bracket can be securely fixed from inside the case, which increases protection against theft. The Mikrotik RB outdoor media converter is resistant to moisture and dust in demanding conditions.

Power is supplied via the Ethernet port using PoE technology with the 802.3af/at standard. The converter accepts an input voltage in the range of 12–57V, which facilitates integration into existing network infrastructures. The maximum power consumption is only 3W at full load.

Stable operation is ensured by the integrated QCA8334-AL3C switch chip, which processes network traffic with minimal latency. The hardware architecture supports non-blocking throughput of 1Gbps at the first layer. Passive cooling eliminates rotating components and increases overall hardware reliability. The Mikrotik RB media converter has a mean time between failures of approximately 100,000 hours at an ambient temperature of 25°C.
