Glucosamine sulphate is a low molecular weight substance inherent to the body, involved in the construction of intercellular cartilage or contained in synovial fluid. It is the starting substrate for the synthesis of glycosaminoglycans. Glucosamine is most often combined with chondroitin sulfate and MSM for its synergistic action. Glucosamine sulfate is obtained from the shells of marine crustaceans. Glucosamine sulphate and Chondroitin sulphate are classified as SYSADOA (symptomatic slow acting drugs of osteoarthritis) which are substances that help to restore the metabolic balance in chondrocytes. In osteoarthritis, these agents have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects comparable to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). However, the effect occurs gradually over 4-6 weeks and persists for several weeks after discontinuation. They lack the typical side effects of NSAIDs and make it possible to reduce their consumption.
Chondroitin sulfate is a substance belonging to the body's own glycosaminoglycans. They naturally bind to proteoglycans, which are an important building block of the intercellular cartilage. The strong negative charge osmotically retains water, thus ensuring the mechanical and elastic properties of the cartilage. Chondroitinsulphate inhibits the activity of cartilage-damaging enzymes, stimulates cartilage biosynthesis and improves the mechanical-elastic properties of cartilage. It promotes the formation of proteoglycans and type II collagen in chondrocytes and hyaluronate synthesis in synovial cells. It is most often obtained from bovine or porcine cartilage. Chondroitin sulfate is one of the slow-acting drugs for osteoarthritis. When used for a long time, it has beneficial effects against pain and inflammation that usually accompany arthrosis of the joints. Its effect becomes apparent after 4-6 weeks of regular use and usually persists for some time after discontinuation. There is evidence that chondroitin sulphate appears to stop the loss of articular cartilage that occurs in arthritis.
MSM (dimethylsulfone) is a simple organic sulfur compound that is a natural part of the food chain of most vertebrates. It is found in some foods, grains and alfalfa. Among foods, it is most abundant in milk. Sulfur (a biogenic element) is contained in proteins and is involved in the formation of type II collagen and glucosamines. Organically bound sulphur is essential for the formation of collagen cross-links (reinforcement of collagen by disulphide bridges) and is required for the structure and function of the cell wall. In addition to analgesic and antiphlogistic effects, MSM also has vasodilatory and anti-edematous effects. Its antioxidant and detoxifying effects contribute to the breakdown of damaged joint tissue.
Collagen is a protein that is insoluble in water and forms the basic building material of connective tissues (25-30% of all proteins in the mammalian body). There are several types of collagen, which represent a variety of functions in the body. Collagen hydrolysate is enzymatically cleaved collagen type I and II, which ensures its optimal absorption. Collagen protein supports the healthy development and condition of joint cartilage, suppresses inflammation and corrects degenerative disorders. At the same time, it also nourishes and restores ligaments, promoting healthy and quality hair and teeth. It relieves joint wear and tear after increased physical stress or overweight and is suitable as a supplementary ingredient in arthrosis.
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan (linear polysaccharide) with a high molecular weight. Hyaluronic acid is one of the main components of the intercellular mass. It is part of connective, epithelial and nervous tissues. It can hold approximately one thousand times its weight in water. Thanks to its viscoelastic properties, it serves as a lubricant and shock absorber, improves the metabolism of joint cells and stops the degradation of articular cartilage.
Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that is important for normal collagen biosynthesis in the body and amino acid metabolism. Contributes to normal collagen production for normal bone and joint cartilage function. As a powerful antioxidant, it has the ability to absorb free radicals and thus contribute to the protection of cells from oxidative stress.
The product is intended for long-term use. Tablets are administered daily directly into the animal's mouth or mixed with feed. The content of fish oil (Omega-3) facilitates spontaneous intake.
