Omega-3 from a super-pure source - krill living in the ocean around Antarctica, where the world's cleanest seawater is found. Omega-3s are obtained using the Ecoharvest method, which minimizes unwanted catch when other marine animals are caught (as is common in fisheries, which are the most common source of omega-3 products). The krill used to produce Omega-3 Puhdistamo lives in the seas far from refineries and large shipping operations, so the resulting product maintains a high level of purity. Omega-3s are also in a natural phospholipid form, which is natural for the body and therefore highly usable (comparable to eating whole fish).
Properties of omega-3 fatty acids
The properties of omega-3 fatty acids are related to overall physical and mental fitness, and their proper ratio in the diet is essential for the proper functioning of the body. Omega-3 and omega-6 should be consumed in a ratio of no more than 1:5, with 1:2 being ideal. Unfortunately, the realistic ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 consumption is about 1:15, which is a very risky value. (Too many pastries, pasta, sausages, fats, generally industrially processed foods). In addition to the omega-3 fatty acids themselves, they also contain phosphatidylcholine (the active form of choline) and choline, which is a B vitamin and whose properties are related to cognitive function, as well as astaxanthin, an important antioxidant that also acts as a natural colouring agent - hence the red colour of the capsules.
