Redbreast 15Y 700 Ml 46%
Confident, very honey, sweet and spicy at the same time. With a pleasant taste of sherry. Amazing drink.
Color, smell, taste
Color: dark gold to light amber.
Aromas: fruit, sherry, oak and spices with hints of citrus.
Taste: full and rich. The oily character of cauldron distillation is softened by long maturation, caramel, spices and dried fruits (raisins).
Production
Redbreast whiskey is produced by a distillery in Midleton, Cork, Western Ireland, by periodic distillation. Redbreast, sometimes nicknamed Irish bourbon, is a distinctive 15-year-old whiskey that is fruity and similar to rye whiskey, but at the same time is strongly influenced by sherry and spices. For a very long time - until the 1960s - Jameson sold all his whiskey under customs seal in barrels to storage companies or independent bottling plants. The distillery produced whiskey called Redbreast for the Irish branch of Gilbey´s, a wine and spirits producer. Perhaps because it was somewhat neglected, Redbreast whiskey remained "old-fashioned" pure cauldron whiskey. When Gilbey ceased to exist in a series of ownership changes, he acquired the Redbreast Irish Distillers Group and re-launched it at the age of twelve. This is the richest traditional Irish pot whiskey: well matured and with a generous sip of sherry. In the eyes of some lovers of this style, Redbreast is close to perfection.
