Rollei HearMe Mini 2
The Rollei HearMe Mini is a condenser microphone with a cardioid directional characteristic designed to be attached to cameras, smartphones and tablets. This electret microphone captures sound primarily from the front, suppressing unwanted ambient noise. It connects to devices using TRS, TRRS or USB-C connectors, depending on the input type. Recording takes place with a frequency range of 100Hz to 20000Hz. Its lightweight 35g construction makes it easy to handle in the field. It is plug-in powered directly from the connected device.

Sound capture and directional characteristic
The condenser sensor captures sound from the front and effectively dampens unwanted background noise. The frequency range covers the 100Hz to 20000Hz band, which is ideal for recording human speech. A signal-to-noise ratio of over 60dB contributes to recording clarity. The device handles acoustic pressure up to 104dB without unwanted distortion. The sensitivity is -35dB with a tolerance of +1/-2dB.
Ambient noise suppression and wind protection
The microphone's design suppresses unwanted noise coming from the sides and rear. The equipment includes a special shock mount that eliminates vibrations transmitted from the camera body. The included pop filter is used to suppress plosive sounds. When recording outdoors, the wind shield helps to reduce unpleasant noise. This keeps the recording intelligible even in adverse weather conditions.
Wide compatibility and connection
The Rollei HearMe Mini offers wide compatibility thanks to the inclusion of various types of connection cables. In the package, you will find cables with TRS, TRRS and USB-C connectors. Connection to devices with a digital audio input is direct, with no need for adapters. Camera users will appreciate the classic 3.5mm jack connector. The signal transfer is reliable and without any loss.
Battery-free power
Operating the microphone doesn't require any batteries or charging. Power is supplied via plug-in power directly from the connected device. The operating voltage ranges from 1.1V to 10V. The rated voltage for proper operation is 1.5V. This system simplifies preparation, as you just need to plug in the cable.
Compact design and flexible mounting
The compact body, with dimensions of 72×22×22mm, takes up almost no space in your bag. A cold-shoe adapter, compatible with a standard shoe mount, secures it to the camera body. A wide operating temperature range of -25°C to 70°C enables use in extreme environments. The low weight of 35g doesn't put a strain on stabilisers or gimbals.

Microphone principle
A dynamic microphone is suitable for open performances, live broadcasts, music production, etc. It uses a magnet and a moving coil to capture sound.
A condenser microphone is mainly used for studio purposes. It has higher sensitivity and lower noise. It requires its own separate power supply.
Frequency range
The frequency range indicates the range of frequency values that the microphone records. The wider the range, the more sounds it can capture.
Low frequencies (e.g. 20–200Hz): Bass, the deepest tones of instruments (double bass, kick drum) and male voices.
Mid-range frequencies (e.g. 200–3000Hz): The body of instruments, the foundation of the voice where the ear is most sensitive, important for speech intelligibility.
High frequencies (e.g. 3000–14000Hz): Treble, details, sibilance and the "shine" of the sound.
Air band (above 14000Hz): Gives recordings a sense of expensive, super-high-quality sound and space.
Sensitivity
Microphone sensitivity is the ratio of output voltage to acoustic pressure. It expresses how loud a signal the microphone produces at a given acoustic pressure; higher sensitivity means a stronger voltage and is suitable for quiet studios, while lower sensitivity is better for noisy environments as it reduces unnecessary amplification of ambient noise.
