Seagate Exos X24 16TB 512E/4KN Standard SAS
The Seagate Exos X24 16TB 512E/4KN Standard SAS hard drive is one of the high load internal HDDs for 24/7 operation in data centres. 3.5" HDDs are designed mainly for desktop PCs, data centres, and other data-processing devices. One of the crucial characteristics is obviously the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). The 7200 rev/min RPM ensures better system response across the board. The hard disk provides a storage capacity of 16000 GB. The device uses a 512 MB memory cache. All the data communication between the Seagate hard disk and other hardware is facilitated through the SAS interface.
Seagate Exos X24 16TB 512E/4KN Standard SAS Hard Drive Key Features
- Read speed up to 285 MB/s and write speed up to 285 MB/s
- 512 MB memory cache
- Seagate 3.5" drive for ordinary drive bays
- Maximum power draw 9,8 W
- All the data communication takes place using the SAS interface
Other HDD Features
The HDD boasts a unique design. The enclosure conceals a mechanism that utilises moving platters accompanied by hard disk heads that read and write the data. These mechanical parts are admittedly more sensitive to shocks, but this design delivers a great combo of a low price and great storage capacity. The important parameter that determines the speed of a HDD is RPM - the number of revolutions per minute. In case of the Seagate Exos X24 16TB 512E/4KN Standard SAS, we have 7200 rev/min revolutions per minute. This is welcome news for people with higher requirements, such as graphic or video editors - in short, people who work with large amounts of data. Data transmission and overall stability is also influenced by the disk buffer, usually called cache. The Seagate hard disk includes a 512 MB cache that stores the last used data for their prompt retrieval and reading.
Connecting the Seagate Hard Drive
In order to mount the Seagate Exos X24 16TB 512E/4KN Standard SAS in the device of your choice, it must have a 3.5" slot. Data sharing takes place using the SAS interface, boasting a standard speed of 12.0 Gbit/s. However, this technology is relatively uncommon now.
