Shanling UP6 is a premium portable DAC and headphone amplifier with both balanced and unbalanced outputs, designed for discerning listeners on the go. At the core of the device is a pair of top-of-the-line ESS ES9069Q chips, which provide digital-to-analogue conversion with maximum precision and support for PCM 32bit/768kHz and DSD512. The output power reaches up to 626mW at 32Ω (balanced), so it can handle even more demanding headphones. Bluetooth 5.2 with a Qualcomm QCC5125 chip ensures wireless streaming with support for all high-quality codecs – including LDAC, aptX HD and aptX Adaptive. For a wired connection, there's an XMOS XU316 USB interface with precise timing from a pair of KDS crystals, which ensure clean and stable music transmission.

Practical features
The UP6 isn't just about excellent sound – it also brings practical features for everyday situations. There's a mono DAC mode to save battery, car mode for automatic power on/off when driving, UAC 1.0 mode for compatibility with older devices (e.g. gaming consoles), a high-quality SiSonic microphone with noise cancellation for calls, and NFC for easy pairing. The 950mAh battery provides up to 6.5 hours of operation on a single charge (in SE mode), and recharging takes just 2 hours. All settings – including codec selection, equaliser or updates – can be conveniently controlled using the Eddict Player mobile app, available for both Android and iOS.
