The Author Cubus Brake USB CobLed rear bike light increases your visibility and safety while riding. Thanks to the automatic brake detection function, the light intensifies its brightness when you slow down, alerting other road users. Its light output reaches 70lm, ensuring visibility even in poor conditions. The aluminium construction is lightweight and durable, with the entire light weighing just 22 grams. It is powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts up to 6.33 hours.

Smart features for safety

The light is equipped with technologies that contribute to a safer ride. A key feature is the automatic brake detection, which instantly activates full brightness when you slow down, warning vehicles behind you. The power switch has a memory function that saves the last mode used, so you don't have to set anything up the next time you turn it on. In case the battery runs out, the Safe Ride Home mode automatically switches to an energy-saving flashing mode when the capacity drops, giving you another 20 minutes of emergency lighting to get home safely.

Technology and construction

Visibility is provided by COB LED technology, which integrates 20 diodes into a single panel. This solution creates a uniform, bright surface with a wide viewing angle. The body of the light is made of aluminium, which not only ensures a low weight but also efficiently dissipates heat and protects the electronics from overheating. Its resilience in adverse weather is confirmed by its IP65 protection rating. This means the light is fully protected against dust ingress and can easily withstand jetting water, for example, when riding in heavy rain.

Power and mounting

The integrated 400mAh rechargeable battery is charged using the included USB-C cable. A full charge takes two hours, and a light indicator keeps you informed about its progress and the current battery status. The light has several mounting options. You can easily attach it to seat posts with a diameter of 15 to 35mm using the strap. The package also includes a clip that lets you attach the light to a backpack, bag or clothing, which is great for activities like running or walking.
