The curvature of the snowboard refers to the shape of the board when viewed from the side. It's a fundamental characteristic that greatly influences a snowboard's handling characteristics, including its maneuverability, stability and ability to handle a variety of surfaces and conditions. Different flexes are optimized for different riding styles, from aggressive downhill snowboarding to looser freeride and freestyle riding.
The construction of a snowboard refers to the way in which the individual components of the snowboard, such as the core, laminate and side edges, are connected. Different construction techniques can affect the stiffness, weight and overall performance of the board.
