OUTEQ 1800 lm IP67 Flashlight FL5 with Dual Switch
The OUTEQ FL5 is a compact, rechargeable LED torch for everyday carry and fieldwork. Its fixed-focus reflector creates a concentrated beam with a luminous flux of 1800 lumens and a range of 325 metres. The torch is controlled by a pair of buttons, one on the end and one on the side of the body. The anodised aluminium alloy body has an IP67 rating, measures 139 × 30 × 25mm and weighs 141g, so it fits neatly into a jacket pocket or the side pocket of a backpack.

Light output and 325-metre range
A luminous flux of 1800 lumens and a 20W power input place the FL5 among torches that can illuminate an entire yard, a forest path or a factory floor. The 325-metre range indicates the distance at which the fixed-focus reflector casts a recognisable beam, which is useful for inspecting distant objects, searching in a field or navigating in open terrain. The fixed focus keeps the beam in the same shape: a concentrated centre for distance and a softer spread around it for an overview of your immediate surroundings. Full power makes sense outdoors and at a distance. For reading labels or working in a tight space, a lower mode is more suitable, as the strong light reflects off nearby surfaces and the torch head heats up during prolonged use at maximum brightness.
Dual controls and six lighting modes
Control is split between two buttons. The tail switch is used for instant on and off, while the side button cycles between Strong, Medium, Low, Moonlight, Strobe and SOS modes. The division of functions becomes apparent when you need light immediately: you pull the torch out, press the end with your thumb, and it lights up without you having to cycle through the mode menu. Moonlight is the weakest setting for moving around in a tent or for night checks where you don't want to lose your night vision, while Strobe and SOS are for signalling. The modes are switched sequentially, so getting from full power to SOS takes a few presses. The side button is raised above the surface of the body, so you can find it even with gloves on.
Aluminium body and IP67 rating
The body is made of an aluminium alloy with an anodised finish and screen size knurling along its entire length, which maintains a secure grip even in a wet hand. The aluminium dissipates heat from the head when using full power and withstands abrasion from concrete, metal and tools better than plastic. An IP67 rating means it is completely dustproof and resistant to brief submersion in water, so the torch can handle rain, wet snow or being dropped in a puddle. It is not intended for diving or for permanent use underwater. The head carries a hot surface warning symbol: after prolonged use in the highest mode, the reflector heats up and it is better to hold the torch by its body.
Charges via USB-C directly in the torch body
The USB-C connector is built into the torch body, so you don't have to remove the battery to charge it. You can charge it from the same sources as your phone: a USB-C charger, power bank, laptop or car adapter. The 5V, 1A charging input corresponds to a steady charging current, not fast charging, so it makes more sense to charge the torch overnight rather than for a few minutes before you leave. The package includes a USB-C to USB-C cable that fits chargers and laptops with this connector.
Compact torch and replaceable 18650 battery
Its dimensions of 139 × 30 × 25mm and weight of 141g are typical for a single-cell format: the torch fits in a jacket pocket, a car's glove compartment, or the side pocket of a backpack. The belt clip holds it on the edge of a pocket or on a backpack strap, and the lanyard secures the torch when working at height or over water. Inside is a single replaceable 18650 cell, so after years of use, you can replace the battery itself and the torch will continue to serve you. With a sealed battery, a worn-out battery would mean the end of the entire torch.
