
Strepfen are used to relieve pain and swelling in inflammatory and infectious diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx of bacterial or viral origin. Strepfen lozenges relieve sore throats and reduce swelling of the inflamed throat lining. For colds, Strepfen brings relief from sore throats, especially associated with painful swallowing, and soothes inflammatory swelling of the throat. Strepfen is also used as a supportive therapy in the treatment of tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
Always take this medicine exactly as directed in the package insert or by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Strepfen lozenges are for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age.
The recommended dose of the product is:
Adults and adolescents aged 12 and over: the usual dose is one lozenge every 3-6 hours as needed. Do not take more than 5 lozenges in 24 hours.
Allow the lozenge to dissolve slowly in the mouth to work properly. Do not chew it or swallow it whole. Move it around in your mouth as it dissolves. Strepfen lozenges are in no way a substitute for antibiotic treatment. Therefore, if the symptoms persist for more than 3 days, if they worsen or if new symptoms appear (e.g. fever), see a doctor to make an early diagnosis. The product is not intended for long-term treatment, do not take it for more than 3 days. Elderly patients are at increased risk of side effects. Side effects can be minimised by taking the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time necessary to improve symptoms.
Read the package insert carefully. The product is not intended for children under 12 years of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you think, that you might be pregnant, or you're planning to get pregnant, check with your doctor or pharmacist first, before using this product. Do not take this medicine if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy. If you are in the first six months of pregnancy, you can take the medicine only on the express recommendation of your doctor. Flurbiprofen has been shown in studies to be found in low concentrations in breast milk. It is unlikely that breastfeeding can have an adverse effect on the infant. The product belongs to a group of drugs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) that can affect the fertility of women. After discontinuation of use, correction will occur.

Keep out of sight and reach of children. Store at temperatures up to 25 °C. Do not use this product after the expiry date stated on the packaging and blister after EXP. The expiry date shall be the last day of the month indicated. Do not dispose of any medicines in wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of products you no longer use. These measures help protect the environment.
