Expansion options
The basic configuration includes 12 bays for 3.5" SATA hard drives or 2.5" SATA SSDs. By connecting two additional RX1217 or RX1217RP units, the total capacity increases to up to 36 drives. The additional Infiniband interface connects the main unit to external boxes without any drop in transfer speed. Users can hot-swap drives without needing to shut down the entire system.
Network interface
The motherboard features four built-in RJ-45 1GbE LAN ports with Link Aggregation and Failover support. Two free PCIe 3.0 ×8 slots enable the installation of additional 10GbE or 25GbE network cards. Hardware configuration

Btrfs file system

The Active Backup for Business package unifies backups for physical and virtual machines into a single interface. The Synology Drive service performs real-time data backups from client computers. The Hyper Backup tool saves backups to local folders, external drives, or public cloud services. The Active Backup for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace applications use block-level deduplication.
