Detailed 2K resolution image
The 1/2.8" Progressive Scan CMOS sensor captures video in crisp 2304×1296px resolution at 15 FPS. A fixed lens with a 3.9mm focal length and F2.0 aperture provides a horizontal viewing angle of 82° and a vertical angle of 45.31°. Video is compressed using the efficient H.264 format for optimal storage use and smooth network streaming.
Flexible night vision
The device offers three different modes for night-time monitoring with a range of up to 30m. The classic infrared mode uses an 850nm IR LED, while the colour night mode activates two built-in LED spotlights. The smart mode automatically switches to a colour image upon detecting suspicious activity in the monitored sector, making it easier to identify objects and people at night.
Smart tracking and AI detection
Advanced Motion Detection 2.0 algorithms reliably recognise human presence and distinguish it from other motion in the area. The Auto Tracking feature physically pans the lens to follow a moving object. In case of a zone breach, the camera activates a built-in light and 90dB sound alarm and sends an instant notification to your mobile phone.
Two-way audio with noise cancellation
An integrated microphone and speaker enable full communication with anyone standing in front of the lens. The ambient noise filtering system ensures clear voice transmission without interference. Through the mobile app, you can easily talk to couriers or visitors in real time, even when you're away from home, which adds convenience to remote property management.
Secure data storage
Recordings can be saved locally on a MicroSD card up to 512GB, which is enough for many hours of continuous recording. An alternative is the encrypted Tapo Care cloud storage, which stores video clip history and provides advanced previews in notifications. Users can freely choose their preferred method of file backup according to their needs.
Connectivity and app
Wireless connection is provided by a Wi-Fi module operating on the 2.4GHz band, adhering to IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards. Support for ONVIF and RTSP protocols simplifies integration with systems from other manufacturers. Management is handled through the Tapo app for Android 4.4 or iOS 9.0 and higher, with compatibility for Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice assistants also included.
