Xiaomi Mesh technology creates a unified network throughout your home by connecting individual nodes into a single unit. Users can move smoothly between rooms, and their phones will automatically switch to the stronger signal source. Up to ten routers can be connected to one distributed network, helping to eliminate dead spots even in complex multi-storey buildings. The basic version of the system can handle up to 128 active Wi-Fi devices at the same time. If one node fails, the network automatically finds an alternative route to maintain the connection.
Network security
Data transmission is protected by encryption standards that prevent unauthorised external access. The Xiaomi Family NetShield security suite protects the household from cyber threats at both the hardware and software levels. Parents have access to tools for regulating time spent online and blocking inappropriate content for children. The firewall, combined with data encryption, effectively protects the privacy of all connected users: WPA3-SAE encryption, Network firewall and network abuse protection, Parental control in the Xiaomi Home app.
Xiaomi WiFi system connectivity options
A set of ethernet ports on the back of the device handles physical connection to the internet and other network elements. One high-speed 2.5Gbps port allows you to take full advantage of a fast broadband connection. The other ports support automatic WAN or LAN mode detection for easy configuration.
