YubiKey 5C NFC

YubiKey 5C NFC
Use the YubiKey 5C NFC security token to secure your emails, cryptocurrency exchanges, social networks or even just access to your computer. It is one of the latest generation of miniature USB-C devices from the YubiKey 5 range. It supports multi-factor authentication without login passwords. It combines contact USB-C and contactless NFC for multi-factor authentication. A simple touch of your finger is all it takes to authenticate. Use and benefits
The YubiKey 5C NFC is most commonly used to secure logins to web services and internet applications (such as email services, social networks, cryptocurrency exchanges) as a second strong factor, multi-factor or ideally passwordless authentication, where the user confirms their identity by additionally pressing the button on the token. 9 out of 10 of the world's top IT companies have implemented YubiKey tokens to authenticate their employees (Google, Facebook, Microsoft). The YubiKey 5C NFC security token has no batteries, requires no drivers to function, and does not need to be installed or updated. This makes it reusable for any number of services, not just one specific service.
Authentication principle and supported services
The YubiKey 5C NFC has a metallic button that the user presses to confirm the operation (this may not always be required). The token distinguishes between a long and a short press. The button is purely mechanical; it does not scan fingerprints. In addition to pressing the button, the user also enters a numerical PIN if required (similar to using a payment card at a cash machine). Yubico's list includes hundreds of services that YubiKey tokens can be paired with. There is also a publicly maintained list of services that support 2FA. In the list, the relevant services for YubiKey are those marked as supporting a hardware or software token.
