
Zyrtec is an antiallergic, the active ingredient of which is cetirizine dihydrochloride. Zyrtec is used in adults and in children from 6 years of age to relieve nasal and ocular symptoms of seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis and to relieve symptoms of chronic urticaria.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:
The recommended dose of the product is 10 mg (1 tablet) once a day.
Children aged 6 to 12 years:
The recommended dose of the product is 5 mg (1/2 tablet) twice a day.
The active substance is cetirizine dihydrochloride. One coated tablet contains 10 mg cetirizindihydrochloride.
Excipients are: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, macrogol 400, magnesium stearate, hypromellose (E464), colloidal anhydrous silica, titanium dioxide (E171).
Do not take Zyrtec if you have severe kidney impairment (severe kidney failure with creatinine clearance below 10 ml/min). If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to the medicine or to any of the excipients (other ingredients) in Zyrtec, to hydroxyzine or to substances derived from piperazine (closely related medicinal substances in other medicines).
