This Kenyan coffee is grown exclusively from the SL 28 varietal – the one that made the whole world fall in love with Kenyan coffee. It’s challenging to grow and yields few cherries, but what it does produce has an unmistakable juiciness and depth. At Kafista, they roast it light for filter brewing. No extra body, no roasted bitterness – just what's truly inside the bean.
A quick note to begin: if you're used to dark Italian espressos, this will be a different world. A light-roasted Kenyan coffee tastes more like a deep fruit tea than classic “coffee-like” bitterness. Give it a few cups – most people fall in love with it precisely because of that difference.
