WD Elements Portable 5TB Black
The WD Elements Portable 5TB external drive is used for storing and transferring digital data. Its 5TB capacity offers space for extensive collections of photos, videos, work documents, or complete system backups. The 2.5" format and 230g weight make it highly portable. Plug-and-play technology simplifies its use, as the drive works immediately after connection without needing to install any software. For fast data transfer, it uses a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, which is backward compatible with older USB 2.0 ports.

Key features of the WD Elements Portable 5TB external drive, black
- Provides ample space for data storage
- Compact format for easy portability
- Connects to your computer via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface
- Works with Windows 10 and higher
- Plastic drive chassis
- Low weight for easy handling and transport
- Includes a SuperSpeed USB-A cable
Easy to use and widely compatible
The manufacturer formats the drive for the Windows 10 operating system and higher. When you connect it to your computer with the supplied SuperSpeed USB-A cable, the system automatically recognises and makes it available without installing any drivers. To use it with other operating systems, such as macOS, you need to reformat the drive for full read and write functionality.
Fast data transfer
It connects to your computer via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface with a Micro USB-B connector on the drive's side. This interface works with transfer speeds of up to 5Gb/s and reduces the time it takes to copy large files. To achieve full speed, it requires a connection to a USB 3.0 port or newer, and its backward compatibility with older USB 2.0 ports expands its usability with older hardware.
