A gin hailing from a small family distillery in the Italian town of Moncalieri. Italy is renowned for, among other things, its citrus cultivation, and these fruits are used extensively in the production of this gin. Malfy Gin Limone is more citrus-forward than juniper-led; it naturally contains other botanicals, but citrus notes take centre stage. The lemon peel is steeped in alcohol and, after a thorough maceration, this mixture is pressed. The resulting liquid is then blended with other botanicals like juniper and various herbs. Everything is then distilled in a stainless-steel still. Malfy Gin Limone is a well-balanced gin with a 41% alcohol volume – strong enough to carry the delicious botanical flavours, but not so strong that the alcohol overpowers them. The taste is delightfully zesty and citrusy, while still retaining the classic, complex flavour of gin.
