Seagate Exos X20 20TB SATA
The Seagate Exos X20 20TB SATA hard disk belongs among the high load internal HDDs for NAS and ordinary data centres. The 3.5" format is designed chiefly for desktop PCs and data centres. One of the main characteristics is obviously the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). The 7200 rev/min RPM provides faster data transmission. The overall data capacity of the HDD is 20000 GB. The storage features a 256 MB memory cache. You can connect the Seagate hard disk and the PC or other devices is facilitated using the SATA III interface.
Seagate Exos X20 20TB SATA HDD Key Features
- Read speed up to 285 MB/s and write speed up to 285 MB/s
- 256 MB memory cache
- Seagate 3.5" drive fits into classic larger bays
- Maximum power draw 9,4 W
- Power consumption under standard load is 9,4 W, while in stand-by mode it holds at 5.4 W
- All the data communication takes place through the SATA III interface
Other HDD Features
The HDD boasts a unique design. The enclosure conceals a mechanism that utilises moving platters, complete with disk read/write heads. These moving parts are not particularly resistant against shock or impact, but this design delivers its amazing price/capacity ratio. The important criterion that determines the speed of a hard drive is the number of rotations per minute (RPM). With the Seagate Exos X20 20TB SATA, you get 7200 rev/min RPM. This is great news for people who demand more from their devices, such as graphic or video editors - in short, people who work with large amounts of data. File access speed and overall stability is also significantly affected by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Seagate hard disk is equipped with a 256 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their prompt retrieval and reading.
Connecting the Seagate HDD
In order to mount the Seagate Exos X20 20TB SATA in your PC or other device, it must be equipped with a 3.5" slot. Data transfer is done using the SATA III interface, boasting a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. The technology is one of the best HDD data transfer solutions available and delivers a throughput of 600 MB/s.
