LP Record Electric Light Orchestra's 2015 album "Alone In The Universe" was met with critical acclaim. The album was produced by Jeff Lynne, the band's frontman and only original member. It was recorded at the band's own studio in England and features twelve new tracks. The album has a very retro feel, inspired by the band's love for classic rock and roll.
LP Record Welcome to Wherever You Are is the sixth studio album by the Australian rock band INXS, released in 1992. Produced by Chris Thomas, the album was recorded at Compass Point Studios in the Bahamas. It was the first album the band released after the death of frontman Michael Hutchence and was dedicated to his memory. The album reached number one in Australia and number two in the United States. It was certified double platinum in Australia and platinum in the United States.
LP Record Aretha Franklin's 1967 album I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You is a classic example of the soul genre. It fully showcases Franklin's powerful voice and emotional lyrics, and the songs on the album are among her best-known and most-loved. I Never Loved A Man The Way I Love You is a must-listen for any fan of soul music.
LP Record Despite all their touring, the band, led by legendary frontman Udo Dirkschneider, has been incredibly productive in the studio, recording a new thirteen-track album in various locations. The album was produced and mixed by Martin "Mattes" Pfeiffer (Redhead Studio, Wilhelmshaven) and mastered by Stefan Kaufmann at ROXX Studio in Solingen. Now, the quintet is set to score their "Touchdown" in the heavy metal world's end zone with Atomic Fire Records. Releasing in August 2023, the album features violinist Stefan Pintev on the title track, while the aforementioned Baltes can be heard on the new songs. The album cover was created by Martin Häusler, who was also responsible for the band's new campaign photos.
LP Record Sam's Town is the second studio album by the American rock band The Killers, released on 2nd October 2006 by Island Records. The album was produced by Flood, Alan Moulder and The Killers. It was recorded at The Killers' own Battle Born Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada. The album's title is derived from the name of the town where the band's frontman, Brandon Flowers, was born, in addition to the album being recorded at the band's own Battle Born Studios. The first single from the album, the song "When You Were Young", was released on 21st August 2006.
LP Record After largely withdrawing from the music world five years ago to focus more on her family, P!NK returned to the pop scene in 2017. Her new album, "Beautiful Trauma", is her seventh solo record and the follow-up to her 2012 number 1 album, "The Truth About Love". Alecia Beth Moore, known professionally as P!NK, wrote and recorded 13 new tracks for the album alongside Johnny McDaid from the Irish-Scottish rock band Snow Patrol. The record also features contributions from Bleachers frontman Jack Antonoff, Swedish producers Max Martin and Johan Karl Schuster (alias Shellback), and American pop singer-songwriter Julia Michaels.
LP Record Tarantula is the fourth studio album by the British rock band Ride, released shortly after their breakup. The entire original sound has been reworked and refined. Originally released in 1996, Tarantula is Ride's fourth and final album. It is also the only Ride album where Andy Bell sings more lead vocals than frontman Mark Gardener, due to internal conflicts and the band's prior split.
LP Record Control Denied: The Fragile Art of Existence is the debut and only studio album from the American progressive metal band Control Denied, released in 1999. The project was founded by Chuck Schuldiner, the frontman and driving force behind the influential death metal band Death. This album marked a departure from Schuldiner's death metal roots, incorporating more melodic elements and clean vocals provided by Tim Aymar. The record features eight tracks, including "Believe", "Consumed", "Breaking The Broken", "Expect The Unexpected", "What If...?", "When The Link Becomes Missing", "Cut Down", and the title track, "The Fragile Art Of Existence".
LP Record In 2010, progressive rock giants Porcupine Tree said their goodbyes with an acoustic concert, and the four musicians each went their separate ways. Frontman Steven Wilson and drummer Gavin Harrison, in particular, remained present and highly active on experimental paths in the music world, so it seemed clear: as regrettable as it might be, these two pioneering spirits had simply outgrown the band. In the autumn of 2021, Porcupine Tree quietly reunited, minus former bassist Colin Edwin, to complete production on a new album, "Closure/Continuation". And to have some fun and make their social media followers rub their eyes at a cryptic sign of life.
LP Record In 2019, the debut album from the eponymous Austin-based blues-rock band Black Pumas was released. The album was produced by Grammy winner Adrian Quesada (Grupo Fantasma, Brownout, Ocote Soul Sounds) and features guest appearances from Leon Bridges, La Marisoul, and Kam Franklin. Black Pumas is a mix of blues, soul, and rock with lyrics that touch on social and political themes. The album received critical acclaim, with Rolling Stone magazine calling it a "groundbreaking debut album".
LP Record Pink Floyd's 1975 album, Wish You Were Here, is a classic record often cited as one of the greatest of all time. It is a concept album that tells the story of Syd Barrett, Pink Floyd's original frontman, who left the band due to mental health issues. The album is a dark and atmospheric exploration of loneliness and isolation. The standout track is the nine-minute epic "Shine On You Crazy Diamond", which recounts the story of Barrett's decline. The album is a must-listen for any fan of classic rock.
LP Record The reunion already happened back in 2012, but it was "only" followed by a sold-out world tour. The New York band, which alongside iconic frontman Walter Schreifels (vocals, guitar) still consists of Tom Capone (guitar), Sergio Vega (bass guitar), and Alan Cage (drums), has now finally followed up on this brief interlude with an album: "Interiors". After their debut "Slip" (1993) and "Manic Compression" (1995), this is, incredibly, only the third LP record from Quicksand ever. It is being released on Epitaph, as befits their status. The band originally formed in the late eighties from the bands Gorilla Biscuits, Youth Of Today, Bold and Beyond with the aim of breaking free from the relatively clear-cut boundaries of hardcore.
LP Record Superlative. After releasing the live album "Electric Castle Live and Other Tales" at the beginning of 2020, the progressive metal outfit surrounding Dutch musician Arjen Lucassen is now releasing a new studio record. "Transitus" is the name of the concept album, which this time does not take place in the Ayreon universe. Instead, it's a gothic horror story set in 1884. The main characters are named Abby and Daniel. As always, Lucassen is supported by a host of top-tier guests, including former Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider, guitar virtuoso Joe Satriani, Simone Simons from Epica, Tommy Karevik from Kamelot, guitarist Marty Friedman, and many others. The narrator is former Doctor Who actor Tom Baker.
LP Record In a 1965 interview, Frank Sinatra said: "Tony Bennett is the best singer in the business. He excites me when I watch him. He moves me. He's the singer who gets across what the composer has in mind, and probably a little more." This is exactly what Tony Bennett has been doing for the last 60 years. With 15 Grammy Awards and a huge number of gold and platinum records, he probably knows exactly how to use his vocal cords. "Duets II" brings together the best standards from the Great American Songbook. Here, he is joined in collaboration with some of the finest voices: Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Norah Jones and k.d. lang.
LP Record Signify is the fourth studio album by the band Porcupine Tree, released in September 1996. It was the first Porcupine Tree album that frontman Steven Wilson recorded with the band from the start; previous albums were essentially solo projects with occasional help from other musicians. The recording of "Signify" was a bit strange because, even though it's a band album, we could never all be in the same room at the same time for physical reasons. With the exception of one track, "Intermediate Jesus", which was recorded outdoors, I tended to demo the tracks to a fairly high level and they just replaced the parts I'd played on synthesisers with real tracks. So, the other guys didn't have much input.
LP Record After four albums with the band Warlock, Doro Pesch released her first solo album, "Force Majeure", in 1989. This was followed a year later by the self-titled album DORO, produced in L.A. by KISS frontman Gene Simmons, one of her ultimate musical idols, who also contributed a number of songs to the album. The second Doro album on vinyl. Dorothee Pesch, better known as Doro, is a German rock icon. The singer rose to fame in the 1980s as the vocalist for the heavy metal band Warlock and launched a successful solo career at the end of the decade. In 2021, record-loving fans can look forward to several special vinyl reissues.
LP Record "Death Grips: The Money Store" is a groundbreaking album released in 2012 by the experimental hip-hop group Death Grips. This album marks the group's major-label debut, released under Epic Records. The Money Store features a total of 13 tracks that showcase the band's unique blend of punk, electronic, and hip-hop influences. Notable tracks include the frenetic opener "Get Got", the intense "The Fever (Aye Aye)", and the confrontational "Hacker", which is often cited as one of the standout closing tracks in their discography. The album's production is characterised by its abrasive textures, aggressive beats, and the distinctive vocal delivery of frontman MC Ride.
LP Record A supremely talented Aretha Franklin was just 18 years old when she recorded the album Aretha with The Ray Bryant Combo. This 1961 album was her first release on the Columbia label and features her covers of a number of jazz and pop standards. This was the material upon which Aretha's soul kingdom and her unique personal style were built. Producer John Hammond stuck to the formula he had once prescribed for his 'discovery' Billie Holiday: standards and blues with a jazz rhythm section, plus horns and 'head charts'. Aretha includes the singles 'Love Is The Only Thing', 'Won't Be Long' and 'Are You Sure'.
