USB Passthrough – Remote USB over LAN

A major advantage is the high-quality USB passthrough mode (USB over LAN). You can connect a compatible USB device to the unit—for example, another Z-Wave dongle—and make it accessible to your smart home system over the network. This is ideal if your server is not in the best location for antennas or if you want to separate the radio from the host (please observe the limitations listed in the datasheet).

The SMLIGHT SLZB-MRW10U is designed for modern automation platforms. Use it as a Zigbee coordinator for Zigbee2MQTT, the foundation for an OpenThread deployment, or as the central element of a high-performance network. Additionally, it is ESPHome compatible and can also function as a standalone hub in Zigbee Hub Mode with Berry scripting for local automations.

Protocol Support

The SMLIGHT SLZB-MRW10U supports Zigbee 3.0 and Thread (Matter over Thread) protocols. However, Zigbee and Thread cannot be run simultaneously—the device can be configured for either Zigbee or Thread.
