ZIPPO Black Crackle lighter
The ZIPPO Black Crackle lighter is inspired by the military history of the Zippo brand during World War II. At that time, lighters were manufactured for the United States Armed Forces from materials available due to wartime restrictions. The Black Crackle finish was designed at the time as a protective anti-corrosion coating that cured at high temperatures, creating a unique coarse grain effect. The modern replica of this lighter combines historic design with the highest contemporary quality standards.
