Psyllium refers to the seed husks of Indian plantain (Plantago ovata). Psyllium is, in fact, soluble fibre that has a unique ability to absorb water, significantly increase in volume, and form a gel-like structure that benefits the intestines by softening the stool and increasing its volume. This helps to promote correct and easy bowel movements. The density of the stool can be regulated by psyllium depending on the volume of added liquid.

Consuming psyllium is also suitable for weight loss, to support proper fat metabolism, and for low-carbohydrate diets. Psyllium is also recommended for people with metabolic syndrome and cardiac patients. Recommended dosage
It is best taken on an empty stomach at least 1/2–1 hour before a meal and with a gap of 2–3 hours if taking any medication. 1 to 2 teaspoons (2.5–5g) of fibre.
Mix the Psyllium in the morning, or also in the evening, in 250ml of water. It can be flavoured. Follow with another cup of liquid (water, herbal tea, fruit juice, etc.).
Maximum daily doses: adult – 5 teaspoons* pregnant women – 1 teaspoon* breastfeeding mothers – 1.5 teaspoons* small children from 6 years old – 1 teaspoon*, ensure sufficient fluid intake
*1 teaspoon = approx. 2.5g.
