External drive performance
The drive is based on a Seagate IronWolf Pro enterprise-class unit, which handles continuous operation and high workloads. This 3.5" hard drive handles demanding tasks, including non-stop data access and archiving. The high reliability of the IronWolf Pro drive makes it ideal for use in environments where data integrity is crucial.
Design and cooling
The body is made from a single piece of aluminium, contributing to its mechanical durability. The aluminium chassis also acts as a passive heatsink, efficiently dissipating heat generated during operation. A quiet, low-vibration fan provides active airflow, maintaining the drive's optimal operating temperature without distracting noise.
Connectivity and software tools
The drive connects via a USB-C port with support for the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard, which offers a transfer speed of 10Gb/s. The universal connector is compatible with modern laptops, desktop computers, and tablets like the USB-C iPad. LaCie Toolkit software for easy backups and a two-month Adobe Creative Cloud All Apps plan membership are included.
