He crossed the ocean as a stowaway with an empty pocket, but soon married the daughter of the richest man in the neighborhood at the altar.

In this story, Baron Jan Dolanský seeks a healthy and strong bride for his nephew Max in order to revive the genes of their family.

While she lives in the big world, surrounded by luxury and admirers, he lives a quiet, modest life with his caring mother. They are introduced by a completely random late-night phone call from one of Marcella's guests in her apartment. Although she finds the pleasantly clumsy man a fun diversion in her life of fun, Alois falls in love with the girl and starts looking for opportunities to meet again.
