The Psycho Realm reached number 13 on the Heatseekers chart in 1997 and is an impressive collection of hardcore West Coast gangsta rap. The rhymes and music exude an undercurrent of menace, which is precisely why the album itself lands so perfectly. Surreal imagery and almost impressionistic music create genuine tension. It's more experimental than any average hip-hop album, a fact that makes it particularly worth a listen.
