LP Record A reissue of Mötorhead's seventh album on vinyl. The title track, "Orgasmatron", would gain attention a few years later with a cover version by Sepultura, while the train depicted on the front cover is a result of Lemmy's fascination with model railways. Incidentally, Bill Laswell was responsible for production.
LP Record Just how wonderfully precious and beautiful is a "day like gold" and a "night like velvet and silk"? Max Raabe and Meret Becker sing about it in two versions of the theme song "Ein Tag wie Gold" on the soundtrack for the new fourth series of "Babylon Berlin". The brilliant composing duo Johnny Klimek and Tom Tykwer, who have already won many awards for the music in the first two series of the world-famous cult show, now invite you to a superlative acoustic experience for the third time.
LP Record On the verge of happiness: Bryan Adams with a new album for 2022. He's one of Canada's most successful pop and rock exports, he's been in the business for 40 years, and his last eight albums have all reached the top five in the German charts: Bryan Adams. The singer, guitarist, and songwriter has now announced a new album for 2022: "So Happy It Hurts" is the follow-up to 2019's "Shine A Light", his 15th studio album. The musician, celebrated for his feel-good rock sound, unveiled the first taste in October with the title track. "So Happy It Hurts" features a total of twelve new songs, all of which Adams co-wrote.
LP Record Duran Duran are back with their new album, "Danse Macabre". The 13-track collection features three brand new songs, hauntingly beautiful covers of tracks by artists like Billie Eilish, Talking Heads, The Rolling Stones, and The Specials, as well as new versions of classic Duran Duran songs from their own catalogue. It also includes the fan favourite "Secret October 31st". Guest artists include producer, guitarist, and songwriter Nile Rodgers, Victoria De Angelis from Måneskin, and former band members Andy Taylor and Warren Cuccurullo. The artwork aptly features adapted images from a collection of authentic vintage spiritualist séance photos, curated by band member Nick Rhodes.
LP Record Emerson, Lake & Palmer's eponymous debut album, released in 1970, was a groundbreaking work in the progressive rock genre. Featuring keyboardist Keith Emerson, bassist Greg Lake, and drummer Carl Palmer, the album showcased the trio's virtuosity and range, from the hard-rocking track "Karn Evil 9" to the delicate "Lucky Man". Emerson, Lake & Palmer was a critical and commercial success, and the band went on to release several more acclaimed albums throughout the 1970s.
LP Record In 2021, Angus Stone returns from the silky darkness of midnight to the blissful champagne pink and purple hues of dawn with his beloved, understated project, Dope Lemon. People say the third album is the one you should keep your eyes and ears peeled for, and we think it’s a true testament to the colossal success of Stone’s amazing Dope Lemon story. On his third, highly considered album, Lemon Stone moves away from the observational space of his previous records, turning towards something shinier and more glamorous, but no less thoughtful.
LP Record Faith in the Future is the second studio album from English singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson, released on 11 November 2022. The album follows Tomlinson's debut solo album, Walls, which was released in 2020. Faith in the Future was produced by a range of collaborators, including Mike Crossey, who is known for his work with artists such as The 1975 and Arctic Monkeys. The album's sound has been described as a departure from the pop-rock style of his first album, leaning more towards an indie rock and Britpop aesthetic.
LP Record Nina Simone's debut album "Little Girl Blue", released in 1959, is a jazz and blues masterpiece. Simone's powerful voice and unique style shine through in every track, from the soulful "I Loves You Porgy" to the powerful "Mississippi Goddam". The album is a perfect showcase of Simone's range and talent, and is still considered one of the greatest jazz albums of all time.
LP Record A man of many talents. In 2018, none other than Lenny Kravitz returned to the rock scene. The singer, songwriter, and producer brought his new album, "Raise Vibration", with him. Fans had to wait four years for the follow-up to his 2014 album, "Strut". That the wait was worth it was proven by Kravitz with the first single release, the almost eight-minute-long, socially and politically critical protest song "It's Enough", complete with explosive and moving clips in the music video. The song shows a new side to Kravitz. Otherwise, "Raise Vibration" moves between psychedelic funk, rock, blues, country, and soul, shifting between powerful anthems and soulful piano ballads with strings.
LP Record Released in 1987, Deathrow's album "Raging Steel" picked up where its predecessor, "Riders Of Doom", left off. The album's title is also its mission statement, delivered across ten uncompromising tracks of Teutonic thrash metal. Thanks to cleaner production and evolved songwriting, "Raging Steel" enabled the group to massively expand its fanbase by riding the wave of the global thrash movement that dominated the metal scene in the late 80s. "Raging Steel" is often considered the band's finest hour and is revered by fans of the genre, both old and new, even three decades after its release.
LP Record Motörhead's second album, "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith", was released on 21 June 1981 and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. It was preceded by the release of the title track "No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith" as a single on 14 June, which reached number four on the UK Singles Chart. The album was recorded at Roundhouse Studios in London in February 1981 and was produced by Vic Maile. The album was both a critical and commercial success, certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) for sales of over 300000 copies. It was Motörhead's first album to feature drummer Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, and the last to feature guitarist "Fast" Eddie Clarke until his return to the band in 1987.
