Omeprazole belongs to a group of drugs called "proton pump inhibitors", they work by reducing the amount of acid that forms in the stomach. Omeprazole Teva Pharma is used in adults for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (e.g. heartburn, acid regurgitation). Reflux is the return of acidic stomach contents back into the esophagus, where it can cause inflammation and pain. This can cause symptoms such as: painful burning sensation in the chest rising up to the mouth (heartburn) sour feeling in the mouth (acid regurgitation) and difficulty swallowing pressure behind the breastbone bloating belching feeling like vomiting/vomiting (upset stomach) cramps bad breath hiccups.
The registered medicinal product Omeprazole Teva 20 mg is indicated for the treatment of:
for reflux symptoms
- short-term treatment of reflux symptoms in adults (e.g. heartburn, acid regurgitation)
Dosage and method of use
Adults, treatment of reflux: The recommended dose is 20 mg once a day for 14 days.
Contraindications
Omeprazole Teva Pharma contains sucrose. If your doctor has told you that you are intolerant to certain sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medicine. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you think, that you might be pregnant, or you're planning to get pregnant, check with your doctor or pharmacist first, before taking this medicine. Storage
