Sekol Zeolite 1 - 5 mm, 10 kg
Sekol Zeolite is a natural zeolite substrate for use in aquariums and terrariums. Thanks to its porous structure and 1–5mm grain size, it functions not only as a bottom substrate but also as an effective filter medium. It actively absorbs heavy metals, nitrites and unwanted odours, helping to keep the water biologically clean and clear. In terrariums, it regulates humidity and prevents mould growth. The pack contains 10kg of substrate, which is also suitable for sensitive species of fish and shrimp.

Universal use in the aquarium
Sekol Zeolite offers use as a substrate and a filter medium. When placed at the bottom of an aquarium, it creates a natural environment for fish, shrimp and plants. Its porous structure with a 1–5mm grain size provides an ideal surface for beneficial bacteria to colonise, which are key to biological balance. The substrate binds harmful substances, such as heavy metals and nitrites, while helping to soften and oxygenate the water. The result is a clean and clear environment that is also suitable for more sensitive species.
Ideal conditions for the terrarium
In terrariums, this substrate is mainly used for its high absorption capacity. It effectively absorbs excess moisture from the environment, which prevents mould from forming and keeps the terrarium clean. Its structure is designed so that it does not stick to the fur or feathers of the animals, which you will appreciate when keeping lizards, amphibians and other terrarium inhabitants. The substrate creates a stable and dry environment that suits many species of reptiles and terrarium plants.
Natural composition and properties
The substrate is based on natural silica zeolite, a mineral with a microporous structure. Its chemical composition, with a high proportion of silicon dioxide (SiO₂) and aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃), gives the zeolite its absorbent properties. It is thanks to these that it can effectively remove heavy metals and nitrites from the water. The silicon-to-aluminium ratio (Si/Al) is in the range of 4.80–5.40.
