Priessnitz compress for knees and elbows, 65–80/33cm, blue

The Mamavis Priessnitz wrap brings relief to strained knees and elbows. It is designed for adults and combines traditional methods with a thoughtful design. The base consists of an outer band and a removable inner cotton section that is gentle on the skin. It also includes a pocket for inserting herbs to enhance the effect. An adjustable circumference of 55 to 75cm and a velcro fastening allow for easy customisation and keep the wrap firmly in place.

Methods of use and preparation

The wrap can be used for both dry and wet therapy. For a classic Priessnitz compress, soak the inner cotton section in cold water, wring it out lightly, and apply it to the affected area. Then, secure the dry outer band using the velcro fastening. The cold initially causes the blood vessels to constrict, then they dilate, increasing blood flow and warming the tissue. For warm therapy, you can heat the inner section, for example on a radiator, and use it as a dry wrap to warm and relax the joints. You can also place your favourite herbs in the pocket, and the heat will release their effects.

Maintenance and material

Both the outer band and the inner section are made from cotton, which is breathable and does not irritate the skin, even during long-term wear. Maintenance is simple, as both parts can be washed separately in the washing machine. After washing, let the parts air dry. Do not use bleach or chemical cleaners that could damage the structure of the cotton fibres.
