Its composition corresponds to the most modern knowledge about the proper development of your baby, including the updated Recommended Practices of Czech gynaecological professional societies on folic acid. With its 800 µg folic acid content, it surpasses the current standards common on the Czech market. The high DHA content helps you to compensate for a possible deficiency of marine fish in your diet - equivalent to three fish meals per week.
Why is folic acid important?
Folic acid is important for the normal growth of germ tissues during pregnancy. A rich and varied diet can provide approximately 200 µg of folic acid per day, with a recommended daily intake of 400 µg for adults and 600-1000 µg for pregnant women. In weak (heterozygous) classical folic acid metabolisers (about 50% of the population) the efficiency of the MTHFR enzyme is reduced to about 75%, in weak (homozygous) classical folic acid metabolisers (about 10% of the population) the efficiency of the MTHFR enzyme is reduced to about 25%.
