At the heart of the bridge is the powerful Texas Instruments CC2652P chip, which ensures stable operation of the Zigbee 3.0 and Thread protocols. The hardware is complemented by auxiliary ESP32-S3 microcontrollers providing 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The design includes an external SMA antenna, which increases signal range and improves penetration in noisy environments.
Unique USB passthrough function
The device offers the ability to operate in a remote USB bridge mode over a local network using the TCP/IP protocol. You can connect other hardware dongles for different protocols to the integrated USB port of the SMLIGHT SLZB-06U coordinator and operate them remotely. The control system sees the connected peripherals directly over the network, which removes the need to install low-quality USB extension cables to the server.
Broad system compatibility
The coordinator works with the most popular open-source smart home management platforms on the market. Users can integrate the device into the Home Assistant system via the built-in ZHA interface or use the popular Zigbee2MQTT software suite. The OpenThread Border Router network infrastructure for the modern Matter over Thread standard is also supported.
Local SLZB-OS operating system
Hardware management is handled by the integrated SLZB-OS operating system, which offers fully local administration without needing an internet connection. Users have access to a web interface for configuring and diagnosing network parameters. The system supports sending logs, a local API interface, integration with the MQTT protocol, and secure OTA firmware updates.
Flexible operating modes
In addition to its standard bridge function, the SMLIGHT SLZB-06U can also work as a standalone hub in Zigbee Hub Mode. For advanced scenarios and local automation, it supports running custom Berry scripts directly in the device's memory.
