Corel Scotland 1:64 kit
Corel Scotland 1:64 kit
This 1:64 scale non-floating model of Corel Scotland is a kit of a historic Scottish ship from the 18th century and belongs to the class of ketch yachts. It was mainly used for transporting goods in the Baltic Sea area and the Baltic States. Included in the package are wooden parts, rails and a number of fittings, rigging, canvas for sails and more. Although this is a model for beginner ship modelers, it should be remembered that some manual dexterity and building problem solving skills are expected. The instructions specify the construction process but cannot cover the technology of materials processing, the method of gluing, painting, sanding or varnishing. These are classic modelling procedures, which each modeller chooses according to his/her possibilities and habits. Therefore, it is necessary to be patient and to get the necessary information on the websites of ship modellers etc.

For beginners
The model does not have too many details, it is simpler, therefore significantly less laborious and thanks to the simpler building procedure it should be built by an average modeler or a child. Models for beginners should be a gateway to more challenging and elaborate layouts where the fidelity to the model is much greater.
Set of drawings
The set contains a complete set of drawings of the model1:1 with the building process, the parts are carefully marked on the drawing and there is also a list of individual parts of the model.
Brand Corel
Corel wooden models of non-floating ships are popular among ship modelers for their quality of workmanship, high detail content and pre-worked accessories. The wooden parts are cleanly cut on CNC machines and the kit has a high detail content. The kit does not contain glues, paints, varnishes, tools and necessary modeling equipment. The Coler kits include complete documentation for the construction.
Recommended equipment for building the model
It is recommended to buy tools, glue and paint for the construction. We recommend the Modelcraft Ship Modeler Tool Set (12 piece set) or the Modelcraft Modeler Tool Set (18 piece set). It is also recommended to purchase nylon clamps and indispensable modeling pins. For finishing, precision cutting, gluing of parts and also as a protection of the table it is recommended to use a modelling mat. For bonding, universal dispersion adhesive and Robitronic medium instant adhesive (20 ml) are recommended. For painting acrylic enamel paints. The paints are applied with quality brushes - flat brushes for larger areas and round brushes for details.
