Hull construction

The 26" (66 cm) long hull is made of durable and lightweight ABS vacuum formed into a mold. It is built to withstand impacts at high speeds. The design incorporates support mouldings for exceptional strength. Integrated foam padding in the hull ensures that the boat stays afloat in the event of a capsize. In addition to making the Disruptor virtually unsinkable, the foam padding adds extra rigidity. The motor and electronics are bolted to the mounting plate, which can be disassembled as a single unit for easy maintenance by loosening the shaft and a few screws. No other boat offers such easy access.

Trim plates and stabilisers

At the rear of the model are installed stainless steel trim plates, which are factory set to neutral. By bending them slightly you can experiment and change the handling characteristics for more stability, more agile steering, etc.

Water resistance

The model and its components are constructed, to minimize the risk of water ingress to the electronics, such as, the sealing rings on the servo, epoxy-coated regulator, or the receiver housed in a patented box with a foam grommet.

Flexible shaft drive system

The flexible shaft drive system, originally designed for the 6S drive, is reliable and ready for long hours of fun. The engine is moved more aft, which shortens the shaft and increases efficiency. Clamping clamp holds the flexible shaft firmly and perfectly centres it with the motor. The shaft is easily disassembled for servicing with the two included wrenches.

Dual water cooling of motor and controller

Dual water cooling for the motor and controller draws water through pipettes from the underside of the hull. The water then passes through the aluminium motor mount or finned radiator of the controller. A double outlet nozzle at the rear of the fuselage diverts water from the dual cooling system.

Aluminium fittings, propeller

The 6000 series strength aluminum rudder is blue anodized for an unmistakable look without the worry of corrosion. The screws on the model are also stainless steel. Countless hours of testing prototypes and configurations have resulted in a two-bladed composite propeller with the ideal balance of performance, efficiency and durability.

Power steering and motor

The standard size Traxxas Servo 2056 6.2 kg-cm waterproof digital servo with DC motor and nylon gears has a torque of 6.2 kg-cm and a speed of 0.20 s/60° at 6.0 V. The servo box is fitted with a gasket for water resistance. Marine outrunner type brushless motor with an orbital casing, efficient neodymium magnets, precision balanced rotor and high speed ball bearings. This design allows for efficient heat dissipation through the water-cooled bracket while the weight provides a self-righting function.

VXL-4S Marine controller

The VXL-4s Marine controller is waterproof and water-cooled via a large aluminium radiator. Up to 4 power supply options. LiPol. Includes thermal overload protection and a patented Training mode that reduces power to 50%. Two driving modes are available - Sport (100% forward, 100% reverse) and Training (50% forward, 50% reverse).

Traxxas TQ RC kit

The model is controlled by the Traxxas TQ two-channel proportional steering wheel RC transmitter, operating in the 2.4 GHz band - interference-free operation. The transmitter is powered by only 4 AA cells. There is a knob on the transmitter to trim the steering (so that the model goes straight when the steering wheel is in the center position). The battery level in the transmitter is indicated by an LED. The reverse on the throttle and steering channel can be set on the transmitter. The Traxxas TQ 2.4 GHz three-channel receiver ensures safe and interruption-free driving. Allows easy one-button pairing.
