TraDiar 2026
TraDiář – holidays, traditions, and the joy of everyday life
With the TraDiář, you get the exact dates of movable feasts that depend on Easter. You will never miss Shrovetide again; you will know when Lent and its Sundays begin, when children go carolling at Easter, when Pentecost is, and when the feast of Corpus Christi falls.
The TraDiář combines the name-day, civil, and liturgical calendars with the cycle of nature and the agricultural year, alongside their associated holidays and traditional customs. The TraDiář includes 12 texts by pastor Martina Viktorie Kopecká, encouraging us to reflect at the start of each month. It also features a popular sowing calendar to remind you of the best time to plant and harvest.
The TraDiář helps you stay on top of important days, holidays, and their preparation. You will know the dates and meanings of Candlemas, Fat Thursday, and Ash Wednesday, what happens during the Sundays of Lent, when the Morana is carried out, when Christmas Day, Easter Sunday, and Whit Sunday are, when Saint Gall's feast takes place, what happens on Walpurgis Night or Midsummer's Eve (and why it is a day early), and when Advent begins.
Living in cycles and rituals can support us during uncertain times. We have things to look forward to and can plan not only work and duties, but also joy and entertainment. The logical and complex system of holidays of the Wheel of the Year has never lost its validity; we have simply stopped noticing it. Let us reconnect with nature, our loved ones, and our community through surviving customs and holidays.
The TraDiář is perfect for every family – for mothers, grandmothers, and those without children. It is ideal for anyone who loves using printed diaries and wants to learn more about the intangible heritage of our ancestors. It also suits those who do not need a diary for planning work tasks, but want to seek out the beauty of everyday life and record small daily miracles.
Following positive feedback from readers and users, the diary is once again produced in a semi-rigid binding and a smaller format of 135×190mm, featuring a special anti-scratch lamination. By popular demand, we are returning to the favourite poppy motif on the cover.

Founder of the Smart Press publishing house and mother of one daughter and three sons. She has been involved in the creation of many projects and interesting book titles. The idea for the Tradinář edition came when she realised she wanted to show her children, and thus pass on, meaningful things that had somewhat slipped from her own life – like sowing a seed, hosting a traditional feast, or processing her own harvest.
