Space for large data
This 16TB HDD can hold extensive digital data collections, such as hundreds of hours of high-definition video or hundreds of thousands of photos in RAW format. Use it as a backup drive to protect your company files from being lost. This lets you consolidate all your personal and work data into a single, centralised storage location.
Fast data transfer
The drive connects to your computer using a USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, which is backward compatible with USB 3.0 ports. This connection reduces waiting times when working with large data and speeds up copying and moving large files like films or entire photo folders. It connects to your computer with the included SuperSpeed USB-A to Micro USB-B cable.
Instant use with Windows
The WD Elements Desktop 16TB drive comes pre-formatted for Windows 10 and newer, so it works right out of the box. After connecting it to a USB port and plugging in the power adapter, Windows automatically recognises the storage as another drive without needing to install any drivers. Using the drive with Apple computers running macOS requires reformatting.
