LP Record Lou Reed's classic album "New York" is being released in 2020 as a comprehensive deluxe edition with fascinating bonus material. "New York" is the fifteenth solo album from the legendary American songwriter, guitarist, singer, and co-founder of The Velvet Underground. Originally released in 1989, it reached number one in the Swiss charts, number 14 in the UK, and number 19 in Germany. Its best-known songs include the singles "Romeo Had Juliette", "Dirty Blvd." and "Busload of Faith". The "New York" deluxe edition is being released as a three-CD, one-DVD, and two-LP set. In addition to the remastered original tracks on CD, you'll also find a live version of the entire album, compiled from several performances from Lou Reed's 1989 tour.
LP Record The album "Guido And Maurizio De Angelis: Continuavano A Chiamarlo Trinità" is the soundtrack to the 1971 Italian spaghetti western comedy of the same name, also known as "Trinity Is Still My Name". The film is a sequel to "They Call Me Trinity", and the soundtrack was composed by the prolific Italian musical duo Guido and Maurizio De Angelis, who were renowned for their work in European cinema throughout the 1970s and 1980s.
LP Record It was often said that Elvis Presley's soundtracks never quite measured up to his studio albums. While this is largely true, the music from the film "Blue Hawaii", in which Presley starred, defies that notion. Released in 1961 to accompany the film, the triple-platinum record held the top spot on the Billboard album chart for almost five months. Now, the album has received an audio upgrade worthy of a rock star. The Mobile Fidelity reissue transports listeners to the carefree, innocent world of the early 1960s and the soothing, relaxed atmosphere of the famous Pacific islands.
LP Record Joni Mitchell's second album, which includes two of the most famous songs in the renowned singer-songwriter's catalogue. Produced almost entirely by Mitchell herself at A&M Studios in Hollywood – with the exception of 'Tin Angel', recorded by Paul A. Rothchild – 'Clouds' has a different sound to her debut album, 'Song To A Seagull'. Coincidentally, it was a sound that rock critic Robert Christgau didn't much care for, writing in the Village Voice that 'without David Crosby's production, Joni's voice sounds malnourished'. Fortunately, Christgau was in the minority: the album was very well received and climbed to number 31.
LP Record Megadeth live in Argentina There are still very few concerts due to coronavirus. Especially gigantic stadium concerts like the one Megadeth played in Argentina in 2005. A recording of this concert performance at the Obras Sanitarias stadium in front of more than 25000 enthusiastic fans is now available in video and audio and in various configurations, thanks to the film "A Night In Buenos Aires". An earlier version of the album was released in 2007 under the title "That One Night: Live in Buenos Aires". At the concert in the Argentinian capital, the band played 19 songs.
LP Record The band will be on tour to support their 2019 album, Distance Over Time, and to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Metropolis Part 2 - Scenes From a Memory. The title "Distant Memories" could refer to both the album's content and the fact that it feels so long ago, even though the performances at London's Apollo took place just before the pandemic broke out. "Whether you had the chance to see this tour in person and want to relive what we hope was a great concert experience, or you're enjoying the performance for the first time on video, Distant Memories - Live In London accurately and beautifully captures the energy and excitement we all felt together at the Apollo last February," said guitarist John Petrucci in a press release.
LP Record Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder is releasing a solo studio album, but that's not all – he's also releasing a unique concert DVD! As the name "Ukulele Songs" suggests, Vedder recorded this album accompanied by this very instrument. Among the sixteen tracks, led by the single "Longing To Belong", you'll find two unusual collaborations. Cat Power recorded "Tonight You Belong To Me" with Vedder, and, most notably, the well-known Glen Hansard once again proves his vocal prowess on the song "Sleepless Nights". Hansard was in a relationship with Markéta Irglová for several years, and their duet "Falling Slowly" even won an Oscar for Best Original Song.
LP Record Hey, vinyl lovers – you deserve this! Director Rob Marshall's 2002 film "Chicago" was a rare Hollywood production that did justice to a Broadway musical, winning six Oscars, including Best Picture and a Best Supporting Actress award for Catherine Zeta-Jones. The soundtrack album also won a Grammy and reached number two in the charts. A vinyl release is only natural.
LP Record Siamese Dream is the second studio album by the American alternative rock band The Smashing Pumpkins, released on 27 July 1993 on Virgin Records. The album was produced by Butch Vig and was recorded at Smart Studios in Madison, Wisconsin from October 1992 to March 1993. Siamese Dream was the band's breakthrough album and became a commercial success, debuting at number ten on the Billboard 200 chart. Four singles were released from the album – "Today", "Cherub Rock", "Disarm", and "Rocket" – which reached the top twenty on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The Smashing Pumpkins recorded Siamese Dream with producer Butch Vig, who had previously worked with Nirvana on their landmark album Nevermind.
